Harry J. Good – The Director of Christian Education Will:

Have insight as to the functions of the various departments. (Children, Youth, Young Adult, and Adult)

See that the department is supplied with necessary materials to ensure a successful program.

Provide that all special days are observed with programs.

Provide that our children, as well as adults, are instructed in Zion Methodism.

The Director of Christian Education is also responsible for whatever is necessary to promote a successful Sunday School program and Vacation Bible School.

“Where there is no vision, the people will perish.” Proverbs 29:18

Vison:  A vision statement indicates the “BIG PICTURE” of what you are constantly striving to reach. Therefore, the vision for the Mt. Zion Christian Education Department is:

To be a community of servant believers; grounded in the Word of God; trained and equipped to witness to the world; committed to one in service; and bonded together by our love for Jesus Christ.

“Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly: I do not fight like a man beating the air.” (1 Corin. 9:26)

Mission:  The mission statement indicates the “To Do” planned activities that will contribute to us reaching our vision. Therefore, the Mission for the Mt. Zion Christian Education Department is:

  • To teach God’s Word
  • To train and equip God’s people for service
  • To guide our children, youth and adults in a spiritual formation process relevant to their need
  • To connect with the community through outreach and evangelism with the hope that all will come to know the love of God’s will for their lives
